‘Superman & Lois’ to recast Jonathan Kent role after Jordan Elsass’ exit
nypost.comDeadline.Producers have become aware of Elsass’ concerns, the report said, however, it’s unclear if he quit or was fired.The “Little Fires Everywhere” star played Clark Kent/Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois’ (Elizabeth Tulloch) teenage son, Jonathan.“Superman & Lois” showrunner Todd Helbing revealed to Entertainment Weekly recently that it was his idea to bring Jonathan into the forefront for Season 3 and make him a more central point.“We certainly want to fold Jonathan more into the superhero stories,” he said. “What Clark says to him about the Kryptonian tech, you could take that in many different ways, so we’ll see which road we ultimately go down.”“I have four brothers, and everybody on our staff has sort of similar experiences, so it’s fun to play that [brother] dynamic.
Sometimes siblings are best friends, sometimes they’re at odds,” the CW exec said. “But for the most part what we love about Jordan [the Kents’ other son played by Alex Garfin] and Jonathan is that they have each other’s back and that they’re not jealous of each other.
We’ll continue to have that dynamic for sure in the show.”The show takes place in the CW’s “Arrowverse,” a multi-universe of DC Comics characters.
