Michael Schneider Variety Editor at Large NBC has landed on a February premiere for “Suits LA,” the follow-up to smash hit procedural “Suits”, as well as a date that month for its “Saturday Night Live” 50th anniversary special.
As the network unveiled its winter and midseason lineup, that also includes the ten-part docuseries “The Americas,” narrated by Tom Hanks, and the return of Adam Levine (and arrival of Kelsea Ballerini) to the judges’ chairs on “The Voice.” Also on the docket: New dramas “The Hunting Party,” starring Melissa Roxburgh (“Manifest”), and soap mystery “Grosse Pointe Garden Society,” from Jenny Bans and Bill Krebs.
Per NBC’s announcement, “Suits LA” will air Sundays at 9 p.m. ET starting Feb. 23, following the two-hour premiere of “The Americas” (which moves to its regular 8 p.m.
slot the following week). The network is likely counting on interest in the “Suits” revival in taking a gamble on an all-new Sunday night post-football, as freshman drama “Gross Pointe Garden Society” also premieres Feb.
