Stuart Kettlewell will be forever grateful to Derek Adams for handing him a part in a Highland fairytale starring the smallest of casts at Ross County.
More than a decade on and the Motherwell boss admits it’s a script for success he would love to follow with the Steelmen as he gears up to go head-to-head with his old boss this evening.
Kettlewell was signed by Adams in 2009 and was a key man in a Staggies squad that upset the odds to reach the 2010 Scottish Cup Final as second tier side, win the old First Division and then charge to a fifth place finish in the Premier League.He reckons County grew into a proper top flight club during that spell.
As he prepares to head back to his old stomping ground on Tuesday night, Kettlewell said: “I had a real good time there, an incredibly successful time.
