South Ayrshire Council has today announced that a number of early years centres will be affected by next week’s planned industrial action.All South Ayrshire Council operated primary and secondary schools will be closed to pupils on Tuesday 26, Wednesday 27 and Thursday, September 28.In addition, Invergarven and Southcraig schools are also affected by the strike.However, three nurseries are also set to be affected.A council spokesperson said: “We have recently received information that new members of the GMB union intend to participate in the scheduled industrial action in Wallacetown, Cherry Tree and Space Place Early Years Centres.“This means that Wallacetown, Cherry Tree and Space Place Early Years Centres (EYCs) will close in line with all other schools and EYCs in South Ayrshire on the above dates.The Ayrshire Live app is available to download now.Get all the local news in your area – plus features, football news and the latest on the coronavirus crisis – at your fingertips 24/7.The free download features the latest breaking news and exclusive stories while you can customise your page with the sections that matter to you.The Ayrshire Live app is available to download now on iOS and Android.“We understand the impact this late notice will have on parents/carer’s childcare arrangements.
