Strictly Come Dancing star Krishnan Guru-Murthy has warned that he could "drop dead" mid-performance, just days before the show kicks off.The 53 year old has been diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which is an illness that has already caused two of his cousins to die early.
Ahead of the series launching on Saturday, 16 September, Krishnan has explained that he needs to keep his heart rate below 140.
With that in mind, the Channel 4 newsreader believes that out of all of the dances on offer during the series will be the Charleston.
Speaking to The Mirror, Krishnan explained: "The Charleston will be a challenge, but we’ll see. Krishnan agreed to do the award winning programme this year, despite turning it down on a number of occasions before due to the news being such a bleak place in recent years due to the war in Ukraine, and the Coronavirus pandemic.
