Strictly debut this evening. The Bristolian comedian, 37, danced with her late sister Jenna in disco dancing competitions when they were children.
Jenna, who was two years older than Jayde, died of a brain tumour 11 years ago aged just 28 after studying contemporary dance at university.
Revealing while she feels she has an "obvious handicap", she said that she does have rhythm and says that her disco dancing will certainly help with her Strictly training. "I have rhythm," she said. "I really love the fact that I'm going to surprise people because I do have rhythm.
I've got a very obvious handicap, but I have got rhythm and I was a freestyle disco dancer when I was a kid and I used to dance with my sister at our auntie's dance school in Bristol and on top of all the muscle memory that I've got inside of me, which is really important. "When you've had any sort of training, whatever it is, it's in your muscles and you can access it really quickly.
