Strictly Come Dancing 2021. It became Giovanni's first win, having previously made it to the final in 2015, 2017 and 2018.The pair sailed all the way to the final as they went head-to-head with Bake Off star John Whaite and Johannes Radebe. However, in the end, it was the former EastEnders star who went on to lift the Glitterball Trophy, subsequently becoming the first deaf contestant to win Strictly.Rose was also the first deaf person to have competed on the show, so winning the series was an accomplishment for the 27-year-old.But in a new interview with The Sun, Giovanni expressed that their win wasn't just about their impressive dance routines but also the connection they formed throughout their three-month stint on the programme. He told the publication that he and Rose bonded from the first day they were partnered for the latest series."It's more about the connection.
It's been good from day one," he said."We understood each other. We didn't have much pressure about winning the show."And I was more relaxed into the teaching this year. After going on to say that he and Rose shared a "fantastic connection" between one another, it was the latter who chimed in, saying that it was their "good partnership" that helped them get to the final.Since last week, the pair have been on the road when the Strictly Come Dancing tour kicked off its first set of shows at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham.Following Friday's show, the pair were pictured leaving the venue in the photos obtained by Express.co.uk.
In one of the photos, Giovanni rested his hand on Rose's shoulder as they engaged in a conversation with onlookers before exiting the building. And in another photo, Rose is seen giggling while the professional dancer kept his arm.
