Fans of Strictly Come Dancing have been left confused after the BBC appeared to announce that a "new contestant" was joining the show - Nessa from hit comedy show Gavin & Stacey.
It all started when BBC Three posted: "'Oh! What's occurring?' Nessa is bringing Barry Island to the ballroom as the 20th celebrity contestant confirmed for #Strictly 2022." They even went as far as to mimic the promotional Strictly Come Dancing contestant announcement shots, superimposing an image of Nessa, with her black bob and gold chain, onto a blue disco background.
Some fans didn't catch on to the joke - as Nessa Jenkins is in fact a fictional character played by Ruth Jones, 59 - but there were plenty of excited comments on the tweet.
