Pete Wicks has apologised to fans after being saved by the public vote on Strictly Come Dancing, admitting he's shocked to have made it through to the next round.

His spot in the quarter-final was secured after EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick was eliminated from the competition, following a dance-off against Olympian Montell Douglas and her partner Johannes Radebe.

Jamie and his professional partner Michelle Tsiakkas performed their foxtrot to Stand By Me by Ben E King again, but it wasn't enough to save them from being sent home.

Judge Anton Du Beke had previously praised Jamie as a "beautiful dancer", but suggested he needed to be more "ridiculous" and "over the top" in his performances.
