Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden has announced she's been diagnosed with breast cancer. Speaking to Hello! magazine, Amy confirmed that she first found a lump in her breast before going on a belated honeymoon with her husband Ben Jones, and decided to get it investigated.

She received the diagnosis last week. She also made a post on Instagram announcing her diagnosis, where she's been receiving support from past and present Strictly colleagues. "I've been through quite a lot in my life and this is another hurdle," Amy told Hello. "But if I'm positive and strong, I've got a really good chance of getting back out on the dancefloor as soon as possible. How long until I'm back on the dance floor?'" she continued. "My doctor explained to me that there are three grades, and three is the most aggressive, but they feel like they've caught mine early and to not be too alarmed because grade three would be expected in somebody of my age. "Amy added that she's booked in for an MRI scan and a biopsy on a second lump that was found in her breast, saying: "Once they've got that, they can give me a full prognosis. "She also said that she would like to use her platform to raise awareness as she has done already for Chron's, which she was diagnosed with as a child. "If I can try and turn this negative into a positive, it's going to help me get through this," Amy added.
