Strictly's Amy Dowden's husband praises her 'great resilience' amid breast cancer diagnosis
ok.co.ukA week after revealing that she’s been diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 32, Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden's husband Ben Jones has praised her "great resilience".
The BBC star - who has been partnered up with celebrities such as Tom Fletcher, Karim Zeroual and, most recently, EastEnders favourite James Bye during her time on the show - informed her fans last week that she'd found a hard lump in her breast the day before she and Ben flew off on her belated honeymoon in April.
And speaking to Hello! following his wife's announcement, Ben explained: "Amy has had a lot to deal with in her life and, as I expected, has shown great resilience in the past couple of weeks. "We are both surrounded by lots of family and friends who are going to be an important support to us in the coming months.
We are both staying very positive and remain optimistic moving forward." Last week, Amy shared the devastating news of her cancer diagnosis on Instagram.
