On Monday fans voiced their concern as offensive slurs were posted to his social media account after it was taken over for several hours.
Now the Steve Harrington actor has taken back the control and issued an apology tweet. ‘Hey everyone, I was hacked as I’m sure everyone knows,’ his message on Tuesday night began. ‘What a bummer that someone would go to such great lengths to spread hate.’ He added: ‘I want to apologize for the horrible comments that were posted, it was deeply upsetting to me.
