Butch Wilmore radioed Mission Control telling Houston they had a problem just days before Boeing's Starliner was set to return to Earth on autopilot.The astronaut held up a phone to the speakers in an audio recording of the exchange with staff on the ground at Mission Control at Johnson Space Centre.

Playing the sound again, Wilmore told Mission Control: "I'll do it one more time and let you all scratch your heads and see if you can figure out what's going on." The astronaut clarified the noise emanated from the Starliner speaker - and, as reported by the Mirror, the cause of the sound is yet to be determined.
