Marc Malkin Senior Editor, Culture and Events Storm Reid is not returning to “Euphoria” for Season 3 but there’s certainly no hard feelings between her an Zendaya. “That’s my sister before ‘Euphoria’ and after,” Reid told me Tuesday at Time’s Women of the Year dinner at the West Hollywood Edition hotel. “That’s gonna be my sister for life, so I’m sure we’ll work together again one day in some capacity.” “[It’s] bittersweet,” she said of leaving the show. “I love Gia.

I loved being able to embody her and give her life. I’m really excited for Season 3. I know they’re going to do something special and it’s going to be good.” It was unclear for awhile if a Season 3 was actually going to happen – it’s been since the last season played on HBO — but network boss Casey Bloys announced in November that production would begin in January.

HBO released a first look at the new season with an image of Zendaya’s return as Rue. Much of the original cast — Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, and Eric Dane, are returning.

In addition to Reid, Barbie Ferreira announced in April 2022 she was also leaving. Angus Cloud, who played Fezco, died at age 25 in July 2023.
