Storm Darcy has been named with strong gales and heavy snow forecast this weekend. The Met Office has issued an amber snow warning for South East England as cold air moves across the UK.
Cold air from Russia and Eastern Europe will bring heavy snow to parts of Eastern England and Scotland. Strong and bitter winds could lead to blizzard conditions as temperatures drop to below freezing in some places over the coming days.
Rain will turn to snow on Sunday as the cold air spills across the whole of the country.
