Storm-damaged Strathaven primary school to reopen to staff and pupils tomorrow

South Lanarkshire Council have confirmed St Patrick’s Primary School and Nursery will reopen tomorrow (Wednesday, January 29) after its roof was badly damaged by Storm Eowyn.

Due to "extensive" storm damage, the Strathaven school was closed to all pupils and staff on Monday and Tuesday this week. Winds of 100mph battered South Lanarkshire with hurricane-force gales on Friday, January 24 during the record-breaking storm which prompted a red weather warning from the Met Office and closed all schools across the region.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
