Greater Manchester is set to be battered by strong winds and heavy rain as Storm Barra arrives in the UK. A yellow warning of wind is in place for the whole region until midnight, with gusts of over 40mph predicted which is expected to cause travel disruption.
Heavy rain is predicted during the day, gradually easing into the evening. In most areas it will feel very cold, thanks to the strong winds.
Rain could turn to snow in certain areas, a yellow warning of snow is in place from 11am until midnight for parts of Rochdale, Oldham and Tameside.
