Stockport unites to spread cheer through Merseyway’s annual Giving Tree campaign

Stockport has once again demonstrated the power of community spirit, with businesses and residents rallying together to support those less fortunate as part of Merseyway Shopping Centre’s annual Giving Tree campaign.

The initiative, which encourages shoppers and local businesses to donate Christmas presents to children and families in need, received overwhelming support from across the borough.

With the cost-of-living crisis continuing to impact many, this year’s initiative saw an outpouring of generosity from the community and local organisations determined to make a difference.

Organised by the Centre Management team at Merseyway Shopping Centre and Stockport Council’s Neighbourhood Team, thousands of presents worth more than £100,000 were donated over the festive season in 2024 – more than ever before.
