Police have evacuated a street after a 'suspicious item' was found at an address in Stockport, Greater Manchester. Locals in Hazel Grove say they were forced to leave their homes and businesses following the incident this afternoon.

Army bomb disposal units are understood to be heading to the scene on Chester Road. A huge police cordon was put in place as officers pushed away drivers and pedestrians, reports the Manchester Evening News.
