Stirling Albion hope for final 2023 flourish with tricky trip to flying Falkirk

It’s the final game of a special 2023 for Stirling Albion who face a stern end to the year with a trip to League One leaders Falkirk.The Binos will come into the match fresh off a three-match unbeaten run and positive displays against Annan and Queen of the South at Forthbank in which Stirling boss Darren Young was left feeling his side could have racked up more points on the board.The home side picked up where they left off against Annan with a strong first-half performance against the Doonhamers, with Dale Carrick’s first-half goal just rewards for their display.But an improved display from the visitors – allied with a pair of top stops from Queens keeper Harry Stone – led to an equaliser from Paul McKay deep into the second period to ensure they went back down the road with a valuable point to stay clear of Stirling in seventh place.But before the Hogmanay celebrations get into full swing, the Binos will face the stiff challenge of the Bairns – the only side in the UK unbeaten on league duty so far this season.Stirling were, by their own manager’s admission, given a “doing” on their last visit to the Falkirk Stadium, a 3-0 defeat back in August where the hosts raced out to a three-goal lead before the break.Midfielder Brad Spencer put the home side in front on 11 minutes, before ex-Bino Callumn Morrison doubled the lead from the penalty spot and Ross MacIver made it three after just 36 minutes.The Binos will take confidence from their last meeting with John McGlynn’s high-flying outfit, a narrow 2-1 loss at Forthbank where Falkirk midfielder Spencer repeated his trick to snatch all three points in the closing stages despite an excellent second half from the hosts.Speaking to the club’s media channels after the Queens
