Sting has announced the cancellation of several concerts this week due to illness – find out more below.Last night, the Police frontman took to social media to share a statement announcing the cancellation of an awards show appearance and the postponement of several headlining concerts “on advisement from his doctor”.The statement reads: “Due to illness, it is with sincere regret that Sting must cancel his appearance at the Bass Magazine Awards this Thursday and postpone his STING 3.0 concerts in Phoenix, AZ (originally scheduled for January 24) to June 1 and Wheatland, CA (originally scheduled for January 26) to May 28.”Additionally, Sting’s appearance at the Cherrytree Music Company’s 20th anniversary has been postponed to May 29.
As such, Sting has urged his fans in Phoenix and Wheatland to hold on to their purchased tickets for the rescheduled dates as their existing tickets will be honoured at the new dates.The statement ends: “Sting sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience and extends his gratitude to the fans for their understanding.”A post shared by STING (@theofficialsting)In a follow-up post, Sting address his ailment.
He wrote, revealing that he is currently facing issues singing from a throat infection: “Thats so much for all the well wishes.
