Stillborn baby led to grieving mum's cancer diagnosis that 'saved her life'

A grieving mum has spoken about how having a stillborn baby led to a breast cancer diagnosis that "saved her life". Joann Pucciarelli, who lives in New York, said being told during a routine scan that baby Giorgiana had no heartbeat was the worst day of her life.

After trying to come to terms with the devastation, she began planning another IVF cycle. But a mammogram recommended by her fertility doctor led to the shock cancer diagnosis, which if not made at that point could have led to the disease spreading.
