Fuming Steven Naismith claimed Hearts are the victims of ‘crazy’ and ‘strange’ refereeing decisions after crashing out of the Viaplay Cup.
Naismith’s side went down to a hefty semi-final beating from Rangers at Hampden losing three goals in the space of 14 minutes at the start of the second half to end their hopes of landing the first trophy of the season.
And it looked to be getting worse for the manager when Stephen Kingsley was ordered off by ref Nick Walsh for ‘diving’ inside the box - only for VAR to overrule the official and advise him to point to the spot instead.Skipper Lawrence Shankland tucked the penalty away to make the end result 3-1 but Naismith was left convinced that his side is being treated unfairly by officials.
He said: “It’s crazy. To think he would try to dive when the ball is miles away, going out of the park. He was never going to get a penalty for a dive.
