Manchester United have been warned by Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard that star man John McGinn is not for sale. Reports surfaced earlier this week suggesting United were looking at McGinn as a possible signing to help bolster their midfield.

When asked today about the rumours linking the Scot to Old Trafford, his manager Gerrard was adamant that McGinn will remain a Villa player. "We are certainly not a club that is looking to sell.
Our intention is to keep John McGinn here," the former Liverpool man said. "We don’t want to be a selling club unless there is a situation, as with [Jack] Grealish [to Manchester City], which works itself out if you like. "We want [McGinn] to remain a Villa player and we can’t be any clearer on that.
