Steven Gerrard has received a rave review from current player Jermain Defoe who has backed the Rangers boss to become a "top manager".
The former Liverpool star took his first steps into management when he took up the role at Ibrox almost two years ago. Rangers have not yet been able to usurp Old Firm rivals Celtic, but they have significantly closed the gap and won at Parkhead for the first time in nine years in December.
