Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.
He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,
Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.
Het-up Steven Gerrard clamped questions over his banished assistant coach as the under-fire Al-Ettifaq suffered another chastening defeat. The former Rangers boss reunited with Michael Beale in the Saudi Pro League after Dean Holden paid with his job amid a rotten run of results with former Ibrox signing guru Mark Allen also departing.
But there was no instant upturn in the league with Gerrard and Beale at the wrong end of a 4-0 pasting at the hands of Al-Ittihad.
That leaves Ettifaq without a league win since mid-September.And when asked about Holden being replaced by Beale. Gerrard quickly answered: "This conference is not the place to talk about dismissing the assistant coach.
These decisions are the decisions of the board of directors." Gerrard – who watched his side win a Cup clash midweek – claims Ittihad's extra rest proved pivotal as N'Golo Kante and Karim Benzema got among the goals on Saturday night.
