Passengers have slammed Northern as a 'shambles' after more disruption and 'short-notice' cancellations this weekend. Northern said that a 'shortage of train crew' was the cause of issues on Saturday which say a number of services cancelled.
Replacement buses are running between many locations and there are reduced services at Piccadilly and Victoria stations. And the company has also told people to check before travelling on Sunday as a number of services will not run - and other services could be cancelled at hosrt notice. On its website, Northern said: "A shortage of train crew across the Northern network means services in the north west may be cancelled at short-notice this weekend. "Higher than normal levels of cancellations are taking place, in particular on Sunday, as this is contractually outside of the working week.
You are encouraged to plan and check your journey in full before travelling." Hundreds of angry passengers took to social media on Saturday to hit out at the disruption on the network.
