Stephen Robinson believes St Mirren’s hard work off the pitch is finally bearing fruit on it. The Buddies sealed back-to-back wins for the first time since early February with a comfortable 2-0 victory against Dundee on Saturday afternoon.

The overdue home win was Robinson’s first in Paisley since replacing former boss Jim Goodwin, and took the club above Aberdeen in the Premiership table with just two games remaining.

And the Saints manager feels his side are finally bringing the intensity to the SMISA Stadium he wants them to produce in every game.Robinson said: “We were always aiming high.“We’re absolutely safe but we’re trying to finish seventh.“The fruits of our hard work are showing now.“There’s been an intensity in the last two games and a press that has represented the people of Paisley.“They’re a hard working community and we want a team on the pitch that represents that.“We concentrate on finishing as high up as we can.“The work to build for next season started a long time ago.“We’ve got things in place that maybe weren’t in place before and can take the club forward.”
