Aberdeen have been denied what appears a stonewall penalty in their final Premiership match of the season against St Mirren after a referee U-turn.

It's been a tough campaign for the Dons and they will hope for brighter days as manager Jim Goodwin prepares for a rebuild. Today's clash with the Irishman's former club will have an academic feel to it but there is still a chance of moving into eighth place.

That pursuit looked to have been given a boost just before half-time as David Bates headed the ball towards goal and Scott Tanser handled it inside the box.

With his hand raised in the air, it looked like an unquestionable call, but after 'confusion' amongst the officials according to the Reds' social media, it was overturned by ref Don Robertson.Fans in the stadium allege that it was decided that the left-back had headed the ball but still images at least show him pulling off his best impression of basketball icon Michael Jordan.
