Stephen Mulhern has apologised after tenants in his property claimed they've lived with damp and mould for years.The tenants - who rent one of his Leicestershire homes - raised the alarm over concerns for their health, saying they feel "bitter and alienated" after allegedly having their complaints ignored by the management agent.
Pictures of the property obtained by the Big Issue show walls and ceilings covered in damp and mould. A tenant, who served as a key worker throughout the pandemic and wished to remain anonymous, said it affected their mental and physical health.They told the publication: "We worked our butts off as key workers during Covid – my housemate for the NHS, and I in a factory producing disposable plastic accessories for hospitals, pulling extra shifts.
And for what? Virtue-signalling claps? Who tunes in to watch and support Stephen Mulhern while we’re paying him rent to live in squalor?
It leaves me bitter and alienated." They continued: "It has turned me into a gloomy, rather dour person. I used to love playing football and exercising regularly – that was my outlet.
