Fry has been vocal about preserving the essence of the original show's format. In a conversation with the Daily Star newspaper's Hot TV column, he remarked: "I was fairly insistent from the outset that we shouldn't compromise on the standard and or dicker about with the rules and procedures, which are time-honoured and proven."
