Stephen Fry has spoken about the ‘guilt and shame’ he felt after recovering from suicide attempts. The 62-year-old has been candid about his mental health and his bipolar diagnosis, and in the past has tried to take his own life on three occasions, most recently in 2012.
And the Blackadder star explored the desperation of being suicidal, as he mused on how his love of Beethoven brought ‘colour’ back into his life.
Speaking on the Art of Change: Nothing Concrete podcast, Fry said of his suicidal ideation: ‘Inside you, you just do not see the point of anything.
Nothing has flavour or savour. Nothing has any meaning. Everything is just hopeless. ‘There’s no future. There’s no sense of anything ahead of you.
