State Pension, Child Benefit and other payments due early next week ahead of bank holiday

The next bank holiday takes place on August 26 which means some people will receive their scheduled State Pension or benefit payment early.

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has already published updated payment date details for Tax Credits, Child Benefit and Guardian’s Allowance, while the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is expected to announce similar changes soon.Scheduled payments from HMRC due on Monday, August 26 will arrive in bank accounts on Friday, August 23.

The bank holiday is only being observed in England and Wales, so there are no planned changes to any payments delivered by Social Security Scotland.DWP is expected to confirm changes to State Pension and benefits including Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) later this week.
