Stars go back to black at 2024 BAFTAS in peplums, puffballs and dramatic silhouettes

Maura Higgens, Oti Mabuse and Eleanor Tomlinson were among some of the star-studded arrivals on the red carpet for the 2024 British Academy Television Awards (Sunday 12th May) and the red carpet outfit reveals were certainly a feast for the eyes.

Some might argue that opting for black for a red carpet event is the safe choice, however many of the well-known TV faces reached for the classic hue and there was nothing 'safe' about these showstoppers.

Black sombre? There was nothing sad about these statement frocks, from peplums, puffball skirts (and puffy sleeves), oversized bows and layers of ruffles these girls seriously set the mood for a fun, frivolous occasionwear trend for the season ahead.
