ok.co.ukEver since King Charles acceded to the throne on the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022, there have been a number of changes to royal titles.
The day after he became King, it was announced that Prince William and Kate had become the Prince and Princess of Wales, and, six months later, it was revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's children would be styled as Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet of Sussex.
This news came after the Sussexes confirmed that Lilibet had been christened, and both children can use these titles as they are the grandchildren of the king, owing to the rules set out in the 1917 Letters Patent by King George V.
A few days after this, to coincide with his 59th birthday on March 10, it was announced that Prince Edward and Sophie would be given the Dukedom of Edinburgh - a title packed with significance as it was previously bestowed on the late Queen and Prince Philip when they married in 1947.
