One of the beans spilled at the Paramount+ Comic-Con panel by EP Akiva Goldsman was the possiblity of a Star Trek stage musical.
In regards to what part of the universe would get stage stoppers — that wasn’t really detailed. However, the stage musical is likely centered around the streaming series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
Alex Kurtzman and Goldsman were asked by a fan if there would be more musical episodes ala episode 209 “Substance Rhapsody” which repped the sci-fi franchise’s first ever music-fueled episode.
Goldsman answered, “We’re in the very early stages of figuring out whether we can bring a version of that to the stage.” Rebecca Romijn, who plays Una Chin-Riley on Strange New Worlds, who was also on today’s panel, exclaimed, “Akiva, I can’t believe you just said that!” In “Substance Rhapsody,” an accident with an experimental quantum probability field causes everyone on the U.S.S.
