People in parts of Staffordshire have taken part in the local elections 2024 to vote in their councillor. Two out of eight boroughs in the county held elections on Thursday with voters in Channock Chase and Tamworth heading to the ballot box.
They had their say on who they would like to be their ward councillor and who should run services such as local planning and building control, local roads, council housing, environmental health, markets and fairs, refuse collection and recycling, cemeteries and crematoria, leisure services, parks, and tourism.
Results for Tamworth and Cannock Chase are due on Friday afternoon. No elections were held in East Staffordshire, Lichfield, South Staffordshire, Stafford, Staffordshire Moorlands or Stoke on Trent City. In total, more than 2,500 council seats were up for grabs across 107 local authorities in England. Mayoral elections took place in East Midland, Greater Manchester, Liverpool City Region, North East, South Yorkshire, West Midlands, West Yorkshire, York and North Yorkshire, London and Salford.
