Oasis guitarist Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs by Alan McGee is going up for auction.As BBC News reports, the instrument is one of four pianos given to Bonehead in 1996 by McGee – the latter of whom signed the Britpop band after discovering them in 1993.The instrument – an E108 walnut Yamaha – is expected to bring £8,000-10,000 in an online auction at 12pm GMT today (December 10), and will come with a letter of authenticity signed by Arthurs.It was specifically chosen for Arthurs by Creation Records boss McGee.Sean McIlroy, director of Piano Auctions Ltd, explained: “As far as we are aware this is the first one of the four pianos gifted by Alan McGee to Oasis to come up at auction.“What makes it exciting is that Bonehead and possibly other band members will have played out elements of their songs on this piano, and now Oasis fans and collectors can try their hands on the same keys.”He added: “I can imagine that there will be a few Oasis and music fans who would love this piano as a Christmas present, but they will need quite deep pockets.”Arthurs, who co-founded Oasis, played on some of the group’s biggest albums – their 1994 debut ‘Definitely Maybe’, as well as ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?’ (1995) and ‘Be Here Now’ (1997).The musician departed the band in 1999, but is rumoured to be joining Oasis on their huge reunion tour next year. He has played in Liam Gallagher‘s live solo band as well.Other rumoured members for Oasis Live ’25 include guitarist Gem Archer and bassist Andy Bell.
