Philippe Clement was still an out of work manager looking for his next opportunity the last time Rangers travelled to Paisley to face St Mirren.
The Ibrox side were rudderless but a 3-0 win that day against Stephen Robinson's men at least help lift some of the gloom after a Europa League shocker when they went down to Aris Limassol in Cyprus.
The Belgian was appointed the following weekend and Rangers have barely looked back since. St Mirren actually went into that game back in October three points ahead of the Ibrox side but they were leapfrogged by the Light Blues with a James Tavernier double helping them on their way.
Despite the win, Rangers still trailed Celtic by seven points in a title race that looked to be over. But victory in Paisley today would cut that gap to just two points with the same amount of games played before the Hoops host Ross County later.
