Jim Goodwin were deciding how best to shift sweeties. Now the close-knit pair are preparing for the biggest game of their managerial careers as they plot a safe route past the Lions with a view to tasting success in the League Cup final next month.
Sharp and Goodwin first linked up at part-time Alloa Athletic, with St Mirren assistant manager Sharp helping the now Buddies boss get a job at chocolate giant Cadbury alongside him to help fund their dream of returning to full-time football.
Together they helped the Wasps not only soar up to the Scottish Championship in 2018, they also kept them in the second tier the following season.When Goodwin sealed a return to his beloved St Mirren as boss, his first job was to hand Sharp the assistant.
