Callum Davidson accepts that Zander Clark won’t be a St Johnstone player forever – but knows his standards won’t drop this season.The long-serving goalkeeper, now a Scotland international, has been a standout performer in recent times and that is not going unnoticed.Clark, whose contract runs out in the summer, is likely to attract interest from both sides of the border.Recent reports had noted that both Aberdeen and Dundee United were keen on a pre-contract move for the 29-year-old.However, a venture south may well be a lucrative proposition for Clark.Whatever happens, Perth boss Davidson is sure that his No.1 will continue to shine for Saints when Premiership action returns in a couple of weeks.Davidson admitted: “I’ve resigned myself to the fact Zander probably won’t be staying.
With the performance levels in big games and getting into the Scotland squad there is always going to be interest in him.“I have no doubts he will keep up his professionalism and performance levels.“Zander has been the standout player for us this season and we expect him to keep performing like that.
