SFA bosses are set to comb through the recording of Matthew MacDermid’s Hampden tape after St Johnstone demanded an explanation for Cyriel Dessers ’ disputed opener on Saturday.
Craig Levein Perth men crashed out of the Premier Sports Cup after Dessers’ controversial strike was allowed to stand in Rangers ’ 2-0 win at the national stadium.
The goal was initially chalked off for a Dessers foul on Saints defender Jack Sanders but was then given after VAR man Greg Aitken recommended a review.
But the outraged visitors insist MacDermid had already blown his whistle before Dessers’ strike hit the net - and should therefore not have been sent to the monitor.
