Saints had improved after the break but were unable to make it count and remain bottom of the Premiership table. Chris Kane’s name among the starters had signalled his first in the league since December 2021 following a lengthy and frustrating spell sidelined with injury.
His presence in the forward department has been missed. His work-rate, combative approach and ability to drag you up the pitch.
Those attributes would certainly be required in abundance if Steven MacLean’s side were to play their way to any success across the afternoon.
