Happy St George’s Day 2021! England’s national day is here, giving everyone a chance to fly English flags and celebrating in honour of the patron saint of England.
St George’s Day isn’t a bank holiday, but many will still celebrate the day – especially now lockdown restrictions have started to ease in England.
In addition to England, St George is the patron saint of Portugal, Georgia, Serbia, Bosnia Herzegovina and more. The legendary figure is said to have slain a dragon, and rescued a princess before being executed for refusing to renounce his Christian beliefs.
