It was all about the women at this year’s BRIT Awards; from the winner of the Rising Star award to the Global Icon award, it was all about girl power.
There was an overwhelming female majority on the nomination list this year with awards shows in recent years being called out for their lack of diversity, specifically the lack of female representation.
This year, the BRIT awards clearly tried to rectify last year’s fiasco, which saw an all male nominees list for Album and Group of the Year categories, by not only having women dominate the list but also walk away with the trophies!
British Album of the Year went to pop sensation Dua Lipa who bagged both that and the British female award, bringing her total Brit awards to five.
