Spotify users say 'I feel sick' after £24 price hike - here's how much you'll pay

Spotify is set to increase its prices by up to £24 a year for some users, marking the second hike in less than a year. Users of the music streaming service reacting to the announcement have said - '£20 a month for Spotify, I feel sick.' The individual plan, for one listener, will go from £10.99 a month to £11.99, an increase of £1.

The duo and family packages, for two and up to six listeners respectively, will rise from £14.99 a month to £16.99, and from £17.99 a month to £19.99, a rise of £2 per package which means users will pay £24 more a year.

Customers will be notified via email one month before their bill changes, with the new price coming into effect in either May or June.

There will be no change to the student plan, priced at £5.99 a month, or the free standard plan with adverts. Those on a free trial will pay the old price for one month after their trial ends before being moved on to the new price, while new subscribers will be hit by the new price immediately, reports the Mirror.
