An Ayrshire skincare clinic has received a favourable report on the service it provides by an industry scrutiny body.AKA Aesthetics, in Troon’s Portland Street, was graded as ‘good’ across a range of quality indicators.The findings come from Heathcare Improvement Scotland (HIS), whose task it is to drive up the quality of health and social care provision.Not only had the firm met a number of requirements set out by HIS from the previous inspection, they are currently the only skincare clinic where no new recommendations were made in the wake of the spot check.According to HIS patients were “satisfied” with the quality of care and treatment.
And patients were “fully consulted” before a care plan was agreed, while feedback was “gathered and reviewed.”HIS also said the business was ahead of the curve when it came to complaints handling and that information about how to make a complaint was “easily accessible.”Another plus, according to HIS, the firm was graded ‘good’ in the safe delivery of care.The report noted: “The care environment and patient equipment was clean and well maintained.
Policies and procedures helped maintain a safe environment.“A comprehensive audit programme was in place. Medicines were disposed of in line with the manufacturer and best practice guidance.”Leadership and improvement of change was also praised at the firm with the report noting: “The service kept up to date with changes in the aesthetics industry, legislation and best practice guidance in a variety of ways.“Peer networks supported continuous learning.
And a quality improvement plan helped measure the quality, safety and effectiveness of the service delivered.”AKA Aesthetics said they were “thrilled” with the findings and issued a statement
