A window cleaner has been hailed a "true hero" after tackling the knifeman who killed three children at a Taylor Swift dance party.

Joel Verite, 25, bravely stepped in after he heard a woman screaming as he drove past the scene of the incident in Southport on Monday (July 29).

Friends said he rushed to help the woman, who told him: "Forget about me, there's a fella in there stabbing kids". Colleagues of Joel, a personal trainer and new dad, told how he bravely jumped on the killer with police officers before carrying some of the victims away from the scene.
