A Muslim man in Southport has shared a powerful eight-word message for far-right thugs who started riots in Southport while broken residents tried to grieve.
Local Yilmaz Nasuh watched in horror as flares were flung outside his home in the town on Tuesday night after violence and vandalism took over the streets, as 39 police officers were injured.
He said: "This is not love, this is not humanity - this is sad". In a far cry from the peaceful vigil held minutes earlier commemorating the victims of Monday's stabbings, protesters hurled bricks at a mosque and abused police officers, setting fire to a van.
At least five officers were injured in the violence, with one suffering a suspected broken nose. Yobs demolished garden walls and used the bricks to pelt police.
