The 17-year-old accused of murdering three girls at a Taylor-Swift dance class in Southport has been described as a "quiet" choir boy who never left the house and loved singing.

Axel Rudakubana, who will turn 18 in just a few days, appeared in court on Thursday. He has been charged with the murders of Bebe King, six, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven and Alice Dasilva Aguiar, nine with a curved-blade kitchen knife.

He is also charged with the attempted murder of eight other children at a summer holiday event on Monday.
